JAZMINE SULLIVAN

Sorry about the non postage. Even though I doubt people read it. I had
the pleasure of being off today from work. Thank goodness because I'm
losing it. I was flipping through my music channels on my cable box and
I saw this video, didn't think much of it. For some reason I gave it a
listen. The artist is Jazmine Sullivan and her single "Need you bad" is
off the hook. I'm sure a lot of you that like to discover new talent
have already heard. I couldn't help but feel a bit nastalgic. Back in
the day when Neo-Soul(R.I.P.) was at its peak...I was all over that
shit. That and Reggae. I must have been in 9th or 10th grade. But at
that moment I realized that I found MY MUSIC. Artists from Lauryn Hill
to Floetry to Bob Marley to The Wailing Souls. I felt at home with the
heavy bass and snare drum. Not to say Jazmine fits into that genre. But
she definately takes me back. Once I saw the video I immediately got out
of bed and started dancing. No Artist makes me do that. Other than
Michael Jackson. I mean it was 9am when I saw it. The sleep still in my
eyes. There I was jigging and grooving too that heavy bass. Apparently
she's been doing this since she was 5 ot 6. Singing in her church choir
to singing with Stevie Wonder at 13. So its most def in the blood. And
she's only 21. Anyways she's on J Records. I think EVERYONE should give
her a listen. I'm gonna find out when she's touring. Hopefully she will
play at a small venue only because the vibe is so much better. Oh yeah
did y'all check the new SPIN MAG? 3 page article on Q-Tip. Ch Ch Ch
Check it out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday Kerry! How old are you? 21? haha. Anyway I thought I should post this because she happens to be my FAVORITE actress. I also wanna give a shoutout to Christina...Happy Birthday. So back to Kerry. Shes one of the most articulate, smartest, funniest actresses out there today. She has graced the big screen with movies like Last King Of Scotland, Ray, Our Song, Save The Last Dance, and Lift. These all happen to be my favorite movies. And I know some of you are wondering "well what about Fantastic Four?" Fuck Fantastic Four. I spent 40 bucks watching Kerry be in the movie for like 4 seconds. Screw that shit. Happy Birthday Girl!!!!

Rachel introduced me to this. This takes me back forreal. Well not too back. I WAS born in '85. But still I used to watch all the breakin movies when I was in middle school. Its BREAK MACHINE with Street Dance. This is pretty badass ch ch ch check it out.

BOOGIE...

I'm a huge fan of Tim Barber and whenever im done looking at ALL of his photos I head over to his portfolios page. And it has a list of amazing photographers. And one day I came upon "Boogie" it was an interesting name so I ch ch ch checked it out. This guy is amazing. I won't go too in detail about him I want you to see for yourself.
Alot of you might say that black and white prints are overrated. I don't think so. It really does add a dramatic, monochromatic feel to whatever is in your rule of thirds. Anyway ch ch ch check out the interview with Boogie. I don't care I still want to reside in Brooklyn.

Thanks PingMag

Nike Galore

Oh yes check it out its the new Air Max 1. Soooo tight. I wouldn't be surprised if Nike's website offered that page where you can change the colors of the shoe. Eh doesn't matter. I love the color. I would probably get 2 pair. One to look good in and another to dance, skate, and bike in. YEEEEEAH!!!!

Get Ready...

Oh man I'm so ready for this. Although if you ever tune into Kanye's Blog like I do you can sign up to be in the fanclub, but shit its 30 bucks. I can see where being in this fanclub would be helpful. You get discounts on his shows plus all kinds of other cool shit. ch ch ch check it out!

GLOW IN THE DARK DREAM

Oh damn this thing is awesome. Once I saw this I had this like 15 sec montage going on in my head. Me and this glow in the dark god pushing up and down Eldorado. I'm a huge bike fan so excuse me for being nerdy. This is the Puma Glowrider, the 3rd edition to the Puma Bike. Its a single gear and its perfect for the hipster crowd mainly the ones that live in the city. It also has a badass folding device so you can fold this shit up and walk in elevators, your grandmas house, etc. PERFECTO! It also comes with clean ass gear. Water-resistant jacket, matching tee, and a matching courier bag. The express courier bag comes with a flap made of 3M material, which features a reflective pattern when hit by a light such as a car headlight. Should come our way April 2008! My birthday month!

Suburban Life

Stanley Donwood always hated suburbia. And it so creepy how he shows it
through his artwork. I LIVE HERE! This is where I sleep and eat or
whatever else. Frisco, Tx ugh. So many soccer moms I think we could (cue
in my idea of making a short film about zombie soccer moms and blowing
their heads off and them running us down with SUVs. Motor skills?) make
an army. Anyway so bored today. Of course that's what happens when your
transportation doesn't incorporate a motor and 4 wheels(yeah yeah I know
there's more to it). Its too cold to ride my bike. And LIVING in the
boondocks and living in suburbia doesn't help either. Thanks Stanley for
helping me see the big picture. Scratch that, a portion of the big
picture. God I hate to ramble but I went over to harrys and watched some
crazy documentary about GANGS
in Glasgow. Kids killing kids. But its everywhere. So not much surprise.
But apparently its worse than Bahgdad. I highly think not. So even
though I hate where I live and get bored pretty easily at least im not
in Glasgow. Im eating my words. And yes Stanley is from somewhere in
London, but I hear its pretty bad there as well. Am I bashing him? No. I
admire anyone whose paintings can freak me out and open my eyes. Eek.

Sundance 08'

Oh wow. Look kids its Sundance. I think Sundance is a bunch of crap this
year. I mean does anyone know if there's anything good showcasing this
year. I don't really. And maybe its because too many "A-list Celebs"
are trying to get their free shit and be out. This was always a lifelong
dream for me. To go to sundance and show my magic. Eh, Not so much
anymore. I mean its cool that its definately being more well rounded.
But this is just too much all this shit is making me sick. SXSW anyone?

KIDS..

THIS THING IS ADDICTIVE. Worst than myspace. Its horrible! It meets your
every fucking need. I know when to tell friends happy birthday! So
anyway that's what I happen to be doing at the moment. I'm watching
MEETING PEOPLE IS EASY by Grant Gee. I'm worried. Lets hope Radiohead
makes it to Dallas this time instead of Woodlands.
